EarlyRetirementCrowd

The KOA campgrounds are filled with RV trailers, costing more than some small houses. Who are these people?

They are the early retirement crowd. Retired from their first job, maybe working a second because they want to. Moving from the work world into the retirement they've worked so hard to obtain manifests itself in the car someone else changes the oil for. It manifests itself in the shiny RV where there is daily work of walking the dog, but not re-roofing a barn.

I suspect it takes 10 years or more to realize that this life isn't all it's cracked up to be, either. I notice that somewhere in the middle-retirement years, people often settle down - maybe life's answers aren't chased or obtained by "getting away"; they are obtained by "living in" circumstances of life.
